Trussed up like a chook

Saturday
3k run/walk
3k walk/run

I haven't had anything to report this week. Monday to Thursday involved a crazy four days of training, conferences and running back and forth to my office (45k's away) in between sessions to catch up on bits and pieces of work.

During the week, the pain I've had in my back since before Christmas increased again so I decided to try physio, instead of the chiro treatment I had last year which didn't seem to help much. On Friday I had a particularly gruelling physio session of massage and cupping (which always sounds to me like something that should be done in private between consenting adults) and now I'm trussed up with tape. It's very uncomfortable, but I know that's because my posture has become quite atrocious and it's actually making me stand the way I should. That's something I definitely need to work on!

This morning I dropped my car off to have new tyres fitted and was met with the usual baffled look when I explained that I didn't need a lift anywhere because I could walk the 3k home. I was able to run more of it than I expected before my back decided it had had enough. I then did the return trip a couple of hours later but with more walking and less running. So, even though I walked most of the 6k I wasn't too disappointed after the pummelling my back got yesterday.

They must've thought you were even crazier to walk/run back again to pick the car up. Tee hee, don't ya love doing that to people :-)

Hope the taping helps and it's worth being trussed up like a chook! I've had cupping too and you get strange looks in the swimming pool afterwards when people see the lovely little bruises it leaves all over your back!

I'm curious about the canapes too. How is the cirquemobile now - handling like it is on rails?

I sympathise with your backpain...nobody understands until the've been through it themselves.
On the positive side my back pain cleared up after i started running...i think running up hills tightened up my abs and corrected my own inbalance. The cupping machine is great but don't turn it up too high or it will do more harm than good!

Cheers R2B

I know what you mean about the look of horror if you don't mind walking more than ten metres to get somewhere. It's just bizarre, isnt it?

Hope your back is feeling better *hugs*

Hehe I love that! When I hired a ute to move they asked me where I left my car. I replied that I ran here and the look he gave me was priceless!

I think you did pretty well all things considered. Hope your back feels better after all that pummelling and cupping.
