I'm running again!

Well - a little bit anyway.

Friday
45 minute bike ride

Tuesday
2k run + 2k fast walk

I had to leave home at 6 o'clock this morning, but after taking three days off to try and get my knees to heal I was desperate not to miss my chance to see if my recent run/walking routine had achieved anything. I set my alarm for 4.45, but I was so worried that I'd somehow miss it that I woke up just about every half hour from 12.30 onwards. Totally inappropriate behaviour I know, but that's addiction for you! Anyway I ended up running just over 2k and it felt really, really good. Much better than the last time I did it a few months ago. Plus I stayed vertical the whole time, even while walking down the severely pot-holed road to the lake in the dark. In the end I ran out of time and had to cut the walking part a bit short so I'll know to leave a bit earlier in future.

So.....I was really happy with my little 2k!
The challenge now is to try and consolidate everything I've learned in the past year about how to manage conflicting medical conditions and then try to move on from here without too many backward steps. I feel really positive this time around!

Oops - and for those who are following C1's tri exploits, he had a fantastic time at Caloundra and did 56:50 for a 400/15/4. He was happy enough with that time as his first for that distance. Next stop Bribie next Sunday.

Good on ya Yvette.

But hey, don't ya hate the fact that its dark at that hour these days! Oh, and I can relate to the waking up thing, I do it so often before training.

Congrats to C1. What distance is Bribie? Is it shorter or longer than Caloundra?

Yay, you! Great stuff :)

I shall prolly see you at Bribie - still debating whether to do it or not, bearing in mind I've done no swimming or bike since before xmas! Oops!
