Hannah rocks
Saturday
My news for Saturday is that I got to watch Hannah do her very first marathon distance run. She was an absolute champ but I'll let you read the details in her blog. After seeing her go round and round and round and round that track, long after the novelty had worn off and things were getting really tough, I have no doubt that she can do absolutely anything she sets her mind to.
Huge Congrats Hannah! My only regret is that I didn't get the Happy Hannah Marathon dance on video.
Huge congrats to all the other CRs running last night too, especially Tesso for her fantastic achievement. Clairie, you looked fantastic out there too!
Sunday
45 minute bike ride.
40 minutes cycling. 5 minutes checking for broken bones and washing blood off my legs.
Just as I was congratulating myself that I was getting the hang of this bike steering thing the inevitable happened. I now have a big graze and bruise on one knee and a bruise on my other knee and hip. I was only about 10 minutes into my ride so I hopped back on (literally) and rode for another 40 minutes but my confidence was totally gone and I was wobbling about all over the place.
Note to self: Getting to sleep at 2.30 is not conducive to riding a bike at 7 o'clock.

Hannah rocks!!!
Thank you so so so so much for all your encouragement last night. Is your face sore from all the smiling :-) It really was wonderful to run past you guys every 500m.
I just hope one day soon, maybe like in 12 months time soon, you can be out there on the track with us.
Huge congrats to you too, lap scoring for an event like that is not easy!
Yay you :) I think the lap scorers should have a lap of honour at the end of the race with all the runners cheering them on.
You did a fab job :) xxx
Cirque in my darkest moments on the track it was that little unexpected "go clairie" that seemed to float above the loud crappy radio music.
It was uplifting and I can't begin to thank you for that. You may never realise what a cheerful cheer means to someone struggling through their run, but let me assure you - It did make a difference.
Thanks so much for that and for being their for Hannah.
Ouch Cirque - you would think you would have built up some +ve karma after Saturday night - maybe the really good thing is still yet to happen ;-)
Wow - you rode for 40 minutes AFTER the stack - that is inspiring - well done mate - I hope the bruised and grazed bits heal up quickly.
I would hate to graze my knee... I think I would cry! good on you for getin straight back on!
Well done for being a great support person and lap scoing! That takes concentration :-)
Aww, no photos?! Hope you're okay. Well done on getting back on the bike.
Cirque, I can tell from the comments of thos who ran, just how much your presence meant to them; when I do such an event, I want you there too! You are so very generous giving support to so many others. Hope your poor bruised body heas quickly; be careful on that bike; that's why I have a stationary one...can't have an accident or fall!
oh dear - maybe we should set up a round steering wheel for the bike? Hugely impressive to see you hopped back on the iron horse straight away though ...
Have you thought about getting those bull-horn type grips that clamp on the end of the handlebar? They're really only supposed to be used for climbing up hills, but maybe they'll give you a sense of security that your hands aren't going to slip off the end of the handlebars - might make you feel more secure/enclosed herhaps?
I don't know what else to suggest Y. What are your regular driving skills like?
Cirque, you haven't ridden a bike until you've fallen off (many times in tiger angel's case - I'm dead if she reads that.. :-))
Congrats on getting back on. It really does get easier. Really!
