Slinky, thy name is Cirque
Things were going swimmingly for a couple of weeks there, until for some bizarre reason, I decided things were going too well and it would be a good idea to throw myself down the stairs.
Poor Lulu! We were about to go for our morning walk and there was nothing she could do but watch in horror as I slid from stair to stair in slow motion, like a slinky on prozac.
Unfortunately the position I was in, which defies description, meant that I bashed my knees and shins on each step on the way down, with a bit of bouncing onto my shoulders and elbows and jarring of my back thrown in for good measure.
Anyway that was a couple of weeks ago now, and my shins are still swollen and bruised but the rest of me seems to have healed OK. And I ran for sixteen minutes the other day (in 8 x 2 minute intervals) so no real harm seems to have been done.
I've been doing a lot of walking and some cycling this time around and I seem to be in a lot less pain than I used to be so something is definitely working.

Aw, you just like an audience :-).
Glad to hear the damage is not stopping you though.

Cirque, Cirque, Cirque.
Just take care of yourself. I'm glad the recovery is going well - May it continue that way.
Cheers,
Ben
OMG! I can just imagine all the terrible things going through your head with every step you bounced on.
But hey, that's good news about the running!
I'm sure you will "spring" back in no time Slinky ;-)
I know... you were practising a quick way to get down the steps at Six Foot ;)
What is this I'm reading?? Throwing yourself downstairs!!
Cirque, don't you think I've got enough to worry about!!!
Please 'watch your step'!
Just checking in to say "Hi!"
Still checking up on you, Cirque!
