The Cirque family's excellent adventure

Running news:
Not a lot to report really. I've done a few short runs, but a fairly bad flare-up of pain for a couple of weeks meant that some of them turned into more walking than running. I've had another visit to the rheumatologist with the results of the MRI and, to be honest, the results weren't very encouraging. I'll talk more about that another time, but for now I'm just trying to focus on keeping on moving, and at the moment that means walking (boring as it may be) when I'm unable to run. I also need to get a lot more serious about cycling, swimming (or perhaps water running) and yoga. More on this later!

Non-running news:
Now this is the exciting bit! The Cirque family is on the move! We sold Chez Cirque a few weeks ago and on Saturday we're moving to a house by the riverside at Bulimba. This isn't quite the destination I planned when I decided on our seachange, but it's a much better option for the cirquelets while they're still at home with me, so I'm happy to put my other plans on hold for another year or two. As far as my need to be near the water goes, our runs will now be along the Brisbane river instead of around our little lake so all's well, and it's just a short stroll (or so the real estate agents assure us) to Oxford St for coffee afterwards.

Plus there's much more room for any CRs visiting Brisbane (you know who you are) to stay overnight as often or as long as they like.

Sorry about this boys, but I can't finish this post without at least a small mention of the Noosa Tri on the weekend. Owen finished in 2:32:51 and Jordan's team finished in 2:20:35 with Jordan doing the swim leg in 28:53. It was a great morning!

This is Owen at the start of the run leg (thanks so much Tesso for the fantastic photo):

Good luck with the move! What a great part of town you are recolating to. I can't wait to 'do coffee' (errrr, or wine) in Oxford St.

Your boys are the best :-)

Great photo (Congrats to the boys!). Why run when you can walk? My motto is "If it hurts too much, don't do it" :-)

One of these days we'll get to Brisbane and find out what all these River Runs and Mt Cootha etc are all about...

Goodie, runs by the river sound good. I'll be up again at the beginning of December so I can check out the new pad!

Water running might be a great idea. I found it really helped keep up my fitness when I was injured.

Wow, an abode by the river at Bulimba sounds fantastic. I'm very envious. I can only dream about such delights in this part of our scorched continent. You deserve all good things that come to you. Take care with the move.

Sounds like good news all around . . . especially with your gorgeous speedy lads.

Hang in there ~ walking is a lot better than not walking at all!!!

I hope you all settle in quickly, Cirque. Sounds very nice : house by he riverside & then Oxford Street for coffee....very civilized!

Try some deep water running; I know some find it boring, but there are plenty of ways to vary a session...I used like it a lot.

As long as you keep moving....& I know you will.
