I can't cheer - don't ask me....

When we left our heroine last week, she was bravely battling her low Hb, pumping pills by the bucketload and doing everything possible to get back up to speed, especially as she was very much looking forward to waving her pom poms at her friends and relatives who were running in the Noosa half this weekend.

Unfortunately, she shares an office with a colleague who spent two days coughing his germs all over her, ensuring that any chance she had of getting better were well and truly scuppered. Instead, she picked up a bug that, given her low immune system, quickly became a bacterial chest/sinus infection and ended up confining her to the house for a week or so, feeling too sick to walk, let alone run or cheer.

So unfortunately she didn't get to see owen achieve his fantastic PB, or cheer any of her other CR friends at Noosa this weekend, much as she would have loved to.

I'm sorry guys, I was thinking of you!!

Ooooh, that makes me so mad when people come to work sick as if they are martyrs and spread germs to everyone else. You should be able to sue them!

Owen was faaaaantastic on Sunday. His was one of the best runs of the day, and he so deserved it. Its such a shame you weren't there, you would have been beaming. Hope its reassuring for you to know all his aunties were doing the beaming for you :-)

I read Owen's blog and he did fantastically well. He has a great running future ahead of him. Flus, bugs, viruses, chest infections - why haven't they found a cure for these blasted things yet!! I'm there with you in spirit (and almost in practice too as I have been feeling off colour myself over the last few days). I like Miners' approach to flu retribution; certainly a change from garlic around the neck.

I'm sorry too - what horrible luck and how inconsiderate of your work colleague :-( Hope you are on the mend. Maybe some chocolate? Always works for me.

Your heading reminds me of the words of a song, Cirque! I think it was Fred Astaire singing "I can't (or won't...forget!) dance, don't ask me." Hope you're OK pretty soon.
