Cirque the test dummy

This is a bit of a non-blog really, but running has taken a bit of a backseat to medical stuff this week.

The good news is that I had really good results from my heart tests. Both the ECG and the echo showed that, apart from a "bit of wear and tear" (God, I feel so old), there were no real problems. Gotta be happy with that!

I was set to have my MRIs this week, but there is a waiting list to have them done by my hospital of choice so I've decided to wait as there is no real hurry.

The bad news is that my Hb has dropped substantially again. I've been taking iron supplements for a while now so I really should be OK, but the fussy people at the blood bank didn't think so. Another lot of blood tests is scheduled in the next couple of days.

To be honest, the anaemia has really knocked me around this time, and triggered a lot of other symptoms. I've decided to take it a bit easy while the pain levels are up, so I haven't run at all this week. Hopefully I'll have something more positive to report very soon!

Are you sure we arn't related somehow!
I'm into my fourth month of iron tabs too. When I'm really sore I go water walking - good for the body, mind and soul. look after yourself.

The water walking/running is actually a really good idea. Keeps up your fitness and feels quite therapeutic. Glad to hear you're only suffering a bit of wear and tear in the heart department. Must be because you work it hard giving everyone so much love and support :)

normal wear and tear ... hmmm. That's not exactly what I would like to hear about any part of my body, tactful as I'm sure it was intended to be ...

You are not old. I consider anybody younger than me to be ... young :-)

Take care. Here's hoping for a positive blog post real soon.

Great to hear that the heart tests had good results.

Now... get onto the other stuff to get your blood levels back to normal so you will start to feel good again.

Hang in there - baby steps! I've just recently come off iron tablets - I'm due to have another blood test in a month's time. Good news on your heart tests :-)

I'm always just scraping in by 5-10 at the blood bank. Not good for running.

Don't worry, runners are prone to normal wear and tear.
