and another week ends...

No exercise to report.

I have been totally, totally overwhelmed by work, study, home and family commitments for the last three days.

I had a major paper due last Friday that was nowhere near completion, even though I've been working on it every waking hour that I'm not at work since I submitted the lit review last Sunday.

Friday was horrible, a long day at work and lots of other stuff which just took all my time and energy.

Yesterday I got up at about 5, spent a couple of hours on the assignment, did some last minute shopping, re-cleaned the house because my new cleaning lady (soon to be my ex-cleaning lady)did a totally crap job on Friday, took C2 to Basketball, and then after meeting my family at B'Ball brought them all back for lunch for a belated Fathers' Day celebration. I ended up spending the rest of the day relaxing over way too many drinks and snacky things, which ended when my nephew and his girlfriend went home at about 9pm and I tried to do some more work which was unfortunately hampered by the effects of too much champagne and too little sleep. It was a lovely day, but didn't do much to help with finishing the overdue assignment.

Today I got up at 5 again, did some more assignment work, went to Church, spent half an hour helping at the church fete and then came home to try once again to make inroads into the paper from Hell. Which I have almost done....by sitting at the computer frantically typing for another twelve hours, interspersed with four loads of washing (including 14 basketball uniforms), cooking a few meals, taking C2 to a friend's party and sundry other domestic chores.

I feel terrible that I haven't done any exercise, but I'm actually aching a bit less than I have been, so maybe the rest wasn't such a bad thing.

I have no idea what this week will bring. I'm so incredibly tired that all I want to do is crawl under the doona and sleep for ever.

Hey, there's only 24 hours in the day!

Don't worry if you miss an exercise session or two, its better to do that than to totally wear yourself out. You'll end up getting sick and be unable to exercise for even longer.

Good luck with the assignment.

This too shall pass C.

Please try not to stress over the diet and exercise at the moment; you are going through a really tough time at the moment and the stress will only add to that. I am really glad to hear that the aches and pains are subsiding - perhaps there is an upside to your enforced exercise-layoff.

PS there is absolutely nothing wrong with champers & nibblies with friends. If you ask me, this sort of behave is a necessary part of any well balanced program, essential for good mental health ;-)

That sounds even busier than your mid-week update and that one already had me feeling guilty. Too much work there for 1 mortal woman.

Glad the chapmers made an appearance in there somewhere :)

Boy, do I hear you! Now I'm back studying I realise how easy it was when I was the teenager. Remember how the parents looked after everything so you had time to study? I'm lucky that gnome helps alot but kids still need mum. As for the tiredness it sucks. I just had to say stuff the study for the night and go to bed and try and get a decent sleep. All I can say is good luck with the time management and may next week be easier.

Cirque - I'm with you about being lazy with the excercise and stuff, how long until the busy time (for work/study) passes?

When you're studying your burning lots of calories from all that brain work so you don't need to exercise too! Having a rest is good for you too especially when you have so much else to do so take care of yourself.
