Cirque the fish
Swimming again - 1k.
I was a bit more disciplined today and tried to keep to a routine. The plan was to rest for 30 seconds after each 50 metres with a 60-75 second rest after each 250 metres. I managed to stick to it pretty closely but I was very tired towards the end. I must have really been fluffing around the other day though, because it took 38 minutes today instead of 45.
I was really happy with my swim today, especially looking back to about three years ago when I couldn't do a length of the 12 metre pool without choking and spluttering. That was until I got into a conversation with an extremely obese woman in the changing rooms who knew everything there was to know about exercise. She kindly explained to me that swimming wasn't very good cardio exercise, unlike aqua-aerobics (which she is going to get around to doing one day).
Anyway, on a brighter note....
My arms are getting quite sore when I do a few consecutive days of swimming and rowing, so hopefully what the cirquelets so charmingly refer to as my "tuckshop mother arms" might start looking a little less matronly.

Wow Cirque, that's great, dropping 7 minutes off the time!
Maybe we'll have to send you in to arm-wrestle Rent Boy at the next CR drinks .... but don't tell Clairie I said that ;-)
What cheeky cirquelets you have ;-)
Maybe I'll go for a swim this weekend....
Keep it up C, every little bit will help to improve your fitness until you are back on the road to Warwick...

Isn't it good to know that no matter where you go and no matter what you do there is always someone who thinks they know more than you do - I'm sure your friend would have made a fine swimmer
Isn't it such a good feeling when you have a good swim - and you have improved so much. Well done :) Are 'tuckshop mother arms' the same as 'chicken wing arms'!!! Note to self - must do weights tomorrow!!!
good effort cirque...you're making great strides (or should that be strokes?!) with your swimming...
