What goes up must come down
Hey all
I'm feeling a little deflated at the moment.
I finally had a long consultation with a sports physician on Friday. He confirmed what I've been told before (but refused to believe) which is that biomechanically I'm a mess and that my body may simply not be capable of running without constant injury. I need to have more X-rays and an MRI so I'll know more when I get those results.
Anyway, in the meantime...no running and I'm not even supposed to be doing much walking.
This morning was going to be an increase from fifteen minutes running to twenty, but instead became 2k on the rower and then fifteen minutes on the bike. Boring!
PS - the Cirquelets bought me some lovely flowers for Fathers' Day.

Sorry to hear that Cirque - guess it wasn't what you wanted to hear fromthe sports doctor. My taper does have a social bent (ie food/coffee) but I'm frustrated so finding it hard to enjoy it. Every day it gets closer to the marathon I get twitchier because I'm hardly running!
(((Cirque)))
Sorry to hear your diagnosis is not looking so good. If you don't like what the first quack says - keep getting second opinions until you do!
Hugs Wm
Cirque - that just sucks.
I wish you all the best with the results. I'm glad that you are continuing with (yuk) other training.
Just keep breathing...

I like WB's advice - Jen might have had some dodgy advice regarding her knee - I've had dodgy advice regarding pronation - so it certainly wouldn't be a first. Just keep doing what you're comfortable doing (like getting flowers for Father's Day - cute). We'll have you running again soon
I second, or is it third, what Wob said. You never know, somebody else may have a completely different idea.
Meanwhile, its good to see you are staying fit with the rowing and biking. That's way more than most people (non runners) I know do.
So sweet of the boys to get you flowers :-)
*hugs* I hope everything works itself out, my lovely.
