The transition

Not much to report.

As you all know by now, I have been banished to that black-hearted land of Ipswich to serve out the rest of my days in lonely solitude.

Sunday
Fired up by the visions splendid of the C2S on TV, I got ready to head off to the gym with a sneaky thought of running for 15 minutes, even though I'm not supposed to be running 2 days in a row at the moment. I knew it was stupid but a little voice kept saying "Oh, come on, it's only 15 minutes, what harm could it do? You know you wanna!" Unfortunately C1 seemed to be hearing the same voice. Either that or he could see the glint in my eye, because he knew what I was up to. After he had stolen, and I had retrieved, my keys, my runners and my gym bag, I finally outsmarted him by a nifty trick involving 'swap the orthotics' and I was off.

Let this be a lesson to you, my little ones....my trick backfired. After about 45 seconds of running, not only was my shin hurting, but my left knee (aka the problem child) started hurting as well. So I decided to do the grown up thing, abandoned the treadmill and spent the rest of the session on the rower and bike instead which is what I should have done in the first place.

Monday and Tuesday
Nothing - too busy adjusting to Ipswich and the travel involved, and chauffering C2 to various things after hours. Walked for an hour or so at lunchtime trying to get acclimatised but that was it.

Today
I sneakily rushed off early to get to the gym at 5.00, but when I got there it was closed. Being in Ipswich, I forgot that it was a public holiday back in civilisation so my gym closed at 4.00.
This really isn't working for me at the moment. Anyway, I went home and then went for a lovely fast walk around my lake instead (with little patches of running) so all was well with the world after all. I love that time of day when the sun is really low. The reflections on the lake were just glorious so I managed to unwind and unravel a bit.

Will try the gym again tomorrow.

Hope the gym tomorrow is a bit kinder to you fluffy. btw - there's still no reports on your sub-ordinate male. Is this a case of "no news is good news"?
