Hope springs eternal
I couldn't get to the gym again today because I had parent teacher interviews for C2 after school.
I was so restless by the time we got home that I thought I would scream if I didn't get some exercise so I went out for a power walk even though it was starting to get dark. I normally don't like doing this, mainly because the place where I like to go is a bike path through the bush and it gets deserted and unsafe very early. The other reason is that I have pretty bad eyesight at the best of times so I have trouble seeing pot holes or anything else I can trip over, and my ankles are so wonky that I'm hopeless on uneven surfaces.
Anyway - the really exciting news is that I jogged for about 5 minutes with only a very mild shin pain! I'd almost forgotten what that felt like. I just checked back through my blog and this is the first time since 28 May.

Be careful on that lonely path, Cirque; maybe you can find somewhere safer rto run when you get another screaming urge! So good to hear that you didn't have any shin pain afterwards. Take care & little by little you'll achieve your goal.
Great to hear the shins held up well Cirque - perhaps the rest was all they needed. Don't jump back in too soon though - couple more days rest would probably be good for you
That is great news Cirque, well done. J.
BTW I get the title as the world's longest beginner; I started running this time last year (at the same time as Aki)...
Excellent news Cirque. First its 5mins, then 10, then before you know it you are running marathons injury free....promise....
Anyhow I hope you keep on the enlightened path of recovery and are soon well enough to join Tesso and I for our School of Pain. It's lots of fun - true!
