Gold Coast Marathon Cheer Squad (Part Two)
Sunday
An early morning so we could be at the start of the half marathon at 6.30 for the official commencement of our cheering duties. Thanks to our CEO Logistics (Jen) we somehow managed to be in the right place at the right time to see the start and finish of both the half and the full marathon, as well as being a short walk from the end of the 10k. This girl is good! Coupled with Owl's entrepreneurial and artistic skills they are truly a cheering force to be reckoned with.
There were way too many highlights to mention, and I'm sure most of them are posted in other blogs anyway. It was fantastic to have a chance to give something back to a running community that has given me so much help and support over the last few months, and equally special to be cheering other runners who have all worked so hard to be where they were. Of course, being able to say "I finished a marathon with Luckylegs" would have to be amongst the high points. LL you are truly an inspiration!
The drinks afterwards were a great way to relax, rehydrate and catch up with lots of NSW and Victorian CRs. Thanks very much for organising the venue Tesso.
All in all it was a very special weekend and made me more determined than ever to get over my current injuries and be able to run again.
Tonight
X-training - 15 mins rowing, 20 mins stationery bike.

Lovely post Yvette - glad I'm finally back on-line so I can read all the reports from GC (it still feels like yesterday).
Was wonderful to finally meet up with you. Hope it won't be long before there's another "GC" for a chance for everyone to catch up again
