The upside of injury.....
....is that it makes me concentrate on the cross-training I should have been doing before.
I've been really slack for the last couple of weeks, and I let study and a couple of health problems sideline me from the plan. Re-reading some of the supportive messages on my blog made me realise how important it is to stay motivated and keep the other exercise up even when I can't run, so ...... back to the gym.
Yesterday was the rower, the bike and a couple of upper body weight machines.
Today was ten minutes of rowing and twenty of cycling.
Plus I discovered at church last week that the little padded kneelers at the back of each pew are the perfect height for calf stretches. So I also had half a hymn for each leg (x 6 hymns) of really good calf stretches beforehand. I love multi-tasking!

I had shin splints a few years ago and it was so frustrating and painful, so hang in there, it will improve!
I love the multi-tasking!
I understand your frustrations more than most Big C ~ you have inspired me to head to the gym/pool today to do some cross training too. Hang in there.
LOL ! I love your multi-tasking efforts.
I find it hard to continue to exercise when I can't run but cross training will keep your fitness levels up in the meantime. Sorry to hear that your shins still are broken. But keep smiling, you will have Owl & I on your doorstep on Friday. J
When I had shin splints I used the sermon time for calf massage - we don't have kneelers :-)
