Welcome to the shin splint club
Sorry for not updating sooner guys....
I've had heaps of problems with blogger and in the end I had to delete all my links and then I couldn't work out how to get in again.
Nothing much to report on the running front either.
My shin is still really painful and I've had a couple of visits to the physio but with no improvement yet. I tried some exploratory running on a couple of occasions, but after a couple of minutes jogging I can't walk for the next two days. I'm still icing, stretching and exercising and now I have my foot strapped in a different way but it doesn't seem to be helping much.
VERY depressing, especially with all the excitement about the GCM coming up. I wasn't going to enter, but it would have been nice to at least feel like a runner while I was there.

stay positive Cirque!!
Being in the cheer squad @GC is the time when I will TRULY feel like a runner. It wouldn't be the same without you there cirque.
A bit more time off won't hurt Cirque, getting back into it is difficult, but it's worth it later on.
Cirque, Can you get to be part of the cheer squad? Seeing all the runners in a state of near exhaustion near the end will make you feel *much* better about not running :-) :-)

Didn't Wobbly Man tell you - only REAL runners get shin splints :-) You run; therefore you are a runner (injuries don't discount that). Look forward to cheering (and laughing and gossiping and eating and drinking) with you at GC.
Argh, those bloody shin splints. Sorry they had to find you too. Been ther, done that. Have fun cross training. Stay active. :)
Oh Cirque! Not just shin troubles, but blogger also! Well, bugger that! I do hope you get to the GC even if you're not running at all; just to know that a friendly supporter is out there somewhere will do wonders for this old runner & will make you as much a part of the day as any of us can be. LL
