Walk
I did a REALLY 'brisk' (I hate that word) 3.5k walk at lunchtime today including some very gentle slopes and my shins were still fine when I finished which I was really happy about. That's the best they've been in ages. Then I sat down at my desk and when I got up about an hour later, the right one hurt like hell when I tried to walk.
Damn and double damn. Will try icing and see if it's OK tomorrow.

Sorry to read about your shin Cirque. Ice well and ease the pace off for the next couple of runs okay?
yep - just ease off for a little while but you'll be fine yvette.
You must be a champion hill walker/runner if you're originally from Buderim! Not too many flat spots around there ...
Double damn is right, Cirque! Let's know if the icing helps; that & easing off a bit should do it.
Hope your shins feel much better tomorrow - take it easy. I must admit I'm not keen on the word 'brisk' either, especially in relation to walking, because I can't walk briskly! I'm the world's slowest walker. Keep icing and keep positive.
You and me can hobble around together! Why aren't body parts detachable? I mean, like, why can't they just have velcro, and the minute one breaks, just whack on another one.
Although, if that was possible, I think I'd probably resort to trying to steal some of our faster friends legs... LOL... we could take advantage of them and get them legless... (no wait, that sounds far too dodgy!)
I'm going to shut up now ;)
