And in other news.......

We interrupt our regular program to bring you the latest news from the Brisbane Marathon, where the eldest Cirquelet (Owen), who turned 20 a few weeks ago, has just completed his first marathon in a time of approximately 4 hours 27 minutes.
He'll post a full race report in CR later. He was doing it really tough there for a while, but as you can see from this photo taken in the last kilometre, he rallied well and finished with a smile.
Well done, mate!!
I don't think he reads this blog, so can I secretly say here how proud I am of him? Even when he was going through the roughest patch he still managed a smile and a joke. He really is a fantastic kid!

Please tell C1 that Kinda Surprise sends his congratulations! I'm so happy for you both
BTW, I want VMOs like his! (well, slightly littler ones. His would probably look v. funny on me!)
Jen , what are you doing looking at C1's legs.. that's very naughty, he's practically related!
That's great Cirque; I'm so pleased he finished with a smile on his face. I told you his mother's genes would get him to the finish.
He certain didn't have the dreaded Marathon stare of despair at the end that you see on a lot of 4 hour plus finishers. He was all smiles as he came down that finishing shute. Give him my congratulations.
He lived up to being Number 1 !!
And thanks to you and the Cheersquad. You could hear it right across to the other side of the river.
Woohooo Cirque - you must be proud!
What a HUGE weekend you lot have had up there! Congrats to all!!
It was so great to catch up again Cirque. Wish I was out there running so I could've seen and heard the work of the cheer squad first hand.
Huge congrats to C1. What a run! It was quite a moment seeing him running along the finishing straight with the biggest smile.
You might be secretly proud of him but its not secret how proud we are of you :-)
congrats to C1...awesome effort...
Hmmm wonder where he gets his tough never give up attitude from???? Congratulations to him, what a great effort and to finish smiling is all the better!!!
He looks too good to have run a marathon!
I'm sure he knows how proud you are even if he doesn't read it here.
That's such a brilliant run for C1! How did he manage to look so happy when he was probably feeling like shite? I know, he gets it from his mum!
