I wasn't going to post about this, but I guess it's impossible not to become a little retrospectively introspective at this time of year. Especially as I just discovered that it's been exactly 12 months and a day since I joined CR.
2005 has been ........ interesting. I think I have the distinction amongst my fellow CRs of not even coming close to meeting any of my running goals this year (and I only really had two or three eensy little ones to start with).
Physically and medically it's been a tough one, but I've learned a lot and I think I'll go into 2006 armed with some valuable knowledge about what may, and may not be, possible achievements in the future. I've also learned that I may have lost the ability to run the way I could before, but not the need to keep trying.
Professionally and academically I achieved my goals, but what was with this Ipswich nonsense? That wasn't part of my plan!
I've kept the Cirquelets alive through another year of parenting and they're happy, healthy, successful and still seem to like me.
Most importantly, through CR I met the most fantastic and supportive bunch of friends anyone could ever have. I can't begin to tell you all how much your support has meant to me, especially when I felt as though my blog was one big, long self-absorbed whinge.
Happy New Year everyone and I hope 2006 brings you all the fantastic things you deserve.

"I've kept the Cirquelets alive through another year of parenting and they're happy, healthy, successful and still seem to like me." If that is the only thing achieved for the year... well done you!!! I like to think of running as icing an one great big cake!! Your kitchen seems in order :-) Well done on surviving a tough year... determination by the bucket load!! Have a wonderful new year and you can join the growing line of CR chomping at the bit for 2006.... has to be a better year!!
Yvette, as the year draws to a close we can all expect to be retrospectively introspective :-)
Happy CR Anniversary! It really is amazing how much we have all gotten to know eachother this past year. Hasn't it just been fantastic!
Here's wishing you and the Cirquelets the happiest of New Years.
Roll on 2006!
Good on ya Cirque! Looking forward to raising a glass or two with you later this year!
What an amazing year 2005 has been for both of us. A little disappointing on the running side but over the year you have become one of my closest and dearest friends.
Thank you for all your advice, support, wisdom & ((((JOC)))) hugs over the year. 2006 is going to be a fabulous year for both of us - bring it on I say !
Love ya,
J xx
