Another grumpy one

Thanks for checking up on me, Wobbly.

Yep - I'm totally, totally snowed under at the moment .....

I have two disability papers, a 20 page research proposal and a prac report to submit by 6 November and so far I've done about a quarter of one paper, which is cutting it close, even by my standards. Having close to a two hour commute to work and back every day hasn't helped.

I'm sore and stressed and grumpy so if anyone has any words of wisdom I would really apreciate them at the moment. Even a brief "this too shall pass" thrown in at regular intervals would be a great help.

My wrist is still sore and because of the location of the injury it's impossible not to keep reinjuring it. I went to a nasty little GP in my office building last week who confirmed that it was only soft tissue damage but he didn't inspire much confidence. I had to tell him which NSAIDS to prescribe.

The worst thing is....it's stopping me from doing a proper yoga session, dammit!!!! Hmmm...I warned you I was grumpy.

Exercise update:
Monday
30 minute walk

Tuesday
35 minute walk/jog

Wednesday
10 minutes treadmill, 11 minutes rower (2k), 15 minutes bike.

Saturday
35 min walk/jog

Sunday
1o min treadmill (5 running), 2k rowing (11 min), 15 min bike (5k)

Monday
40 minute walk
I don't seem to be able to control the pain levels at the moment and I was actually limping for the last ten minutes of this walk. I'm so fed up with this stupid pain I could scream. Actually I sometimes do.
Did I mention I'm a bit grumpy at the moment?

So glad to hear everything is under control - with about 336 hours to go I think you will breeze it in! BTW, "this too shall pass" - did that help?

Cirque - I send all the positive vibes I can up north to you. I'm glad that you are sticking with doing what exercise you can - many would say "bugger it" and sulk.

Hang in there!

This too shall pass :-)

And if screaming helps, scream away :-) At least people will leave you alone then ;-)

Sending lots of good thoughts your way! Just think of all those other times you thought you would never get it done... it will happen :)

hello miss grumpy! Was wondering where you had gotten yourself to - and it appears it was out on the treadmills, rowers, walking paths etc, etc.. That's still a busy schedule you're keeping there remember

As benny said, there are thousands more who don't show anywhere near the perserverance that you do Y. It will all be worth it when you line up for one of the runs at Gold Coast next year :)

btw - maybe it's time to start thinking about the whitsundays again?

Incidentally, when was the last time you treated yourself to a massage?

I think you're bloody entitled to feel grumpy! I'm sure a lot of people would be lying in a heap by now but you keep on plugging away.

I've been there with the Uni work too. It seems overwhelming at times but we get through it eventually.. just do a little bit everyday if you can.. that's what got me through in the end.

*hugs* scream away.... we can take it :)

Have you ever thought about hiring a laptop to use during your commute? I frequently used to use my public transport time to catch up on uni stuff. There's an ace place at the West End that hires them out (abacus?) if you can't get a good deal through your uni. Guess it depends if you bus it or train it or drive!

Hope things get better for you soon... maybe you should have a couple of weeks rest, recover, get things sorted and then come back all refreshed....

*hugs*

"ability is what you are capable of, motivation determines what you do, attitude determines how well you do it"

i think you score highly on ALL counts...hang in there!

J(OCS) hugs coming your way. Keep your chin up Cirque - you are one of the most determined people I know. Hang in there. It may be a cliche but it's true - this too shall pass :-)

Love,

The Natural Courtesan :-)
